kleine herzen (little hearts)

kleine herzen (little hearts) is a charity supporting children who live in economically disadvantaged countries. We care for the youngest and most vulnerable members of society who are in need and cannot speak for themselves. We want to improve the quality of life for orphaned and abandoned children, to enable them to continue to live in their native country but in healthy and socially wholesome conditions. We try to help them to be in a caring and safe environment and to make the most of their education.
We are convinced that the best option for orphaned and abandoned children is to grow up in their own culture, in their own country and in a family environment. Our objective is to help and support this as much as possible. Unfortunately, because of the insufficient social infrastructure and poverty these children are trapped in, this is not always achievable.

kleine herzen was founded in Austria in December 2006 with the mission to support children living in economically disadvantaged countries, especially children in the countries of the former Soviet Union.  Pascale Vayer, a member of the kleine herzen Executive Board, has herself adopted 3 children.

The Executive Board of kleine herzen is in charge of the association's operative activities. The Advisory Board has a consulting function, and the Board of Trustees is made up of people who are specialists in their field, together providing a strong network.
